The other day, I had the privilege of capturing Mark and Alexa's love story against the backdrop of our vibrant city, San Diego. We met in downtown, their laughter echoing through the streets and their love palpable in the air.

They chose Flora, the iconic indoor greenhouse wedding venue, for their engagement photoshoot. It's a place right in the heart of the city, filled with a sense of serenity and charm that beautifully contrasts the urban surroundings. It was a joy to photograph them in this unique setting, a little oasis amidst the concrete jungle.

We explored the venue, capturing moments in front of the venue's stunning floral wall in the bathroom - an unexpected location for some genuinely memorable shots. We also took a few test shots in the green room, where they'll soon be saying their vows. I’m a sucker for greenery and harsh light so Flora is easily one of my favorite venues to shoot at.

As a San Diego native, I can’t say that I've always loved this city, but after traveling all over the world and living in Mexico for a bit I can finally appreciate San Diego for what it is - cute. It's a place where the coastal city chic vibe meets rich culture, creating a unique mix that's hard to find elsewhere. Being able to work in such a vibrant and diverse city is a blessing, and I’m trying to remind myself of that more.

With Mark & Alexa’s wedding set for May, the countdown has begun. Their love story is still being written, and I can't wait to capture the next chapter. Until then, I'll be looking back at the photos from this session, a perfect snapshot of a moment in my hometown.
