You never know who you are going to get the pleasure of capturing so you need to be prepared for every kind of love, beauty, and color. I’ll teach you how. Additionally, I will be teaching you how to appropriately ask, reach out, market to, and grow your portfolio without coming off as insensitive or enabling tokenism. If there was anyone who can talk to you about racism and lack of diversity in the photography industry, it’s me. So ask any questions, I’m an open book. I’ve created this space for you, for us, to make our industry better, so… let’s make some Melanin Magic.
OHKAAAY, BUT WHY?
Light + Melanin is a hands on workshop designed specifically for melanin skin in mind. It’s a place where you can learn, grow, and ask any and all questions about all things melanin. This workshop will teach you how to shoot and edit a diverse range of ethnicities in addition to expanding your approach to shooting in various lighting situations.
Basically, if you are really about that Photographer life, you need to be prepared for anything and everything. People are so diverse, it’s time we start letting their true beauty shine and start loving the skin they are in.

As someone who has been in biracial relationships the majority of her life, and ya know, always being black, I know the struggle of photographing diversity of skin. That is why I feel like it’s my job to educate on this topic. I know it, I live it. I am it. So let’s get to it!
