Ethereal Cliffside Beach Engagement

An engagement session for the books. I had the opportunity to photograph Mish and Ahmad's engagement right on a cliffside beach in San Diego. Iconic. Cotton candy sunset skies and silk ivory dresses are what love stories are made of. Mish looked absolutely stunning in this chiffon hijab.

The highlight of the evening was the delicate blend of natural and artificial light, a signature style of our photography. While golden hour is often a cliché go-to for many, we like to challenge the norm. While beautiful, golden hour tends to attract crowds in San Diego. But this engagement session was all about crafting a unique experience. My goal was to fuse contrasting lighting elements to create an ambiance that felt authentic yet had an editorial flair.

So, I decided to play around with the light, mixing the harsh with the natural, fusing contrasting lighting elements to create an ambiance that created a genuine yet polished vibe. And you know what? It totally worked. The photos turned out amazing. This got me thinking, I should definitely create more editorial-style sunset portraits. It’s a challenge in ways that push creativity. And I love that. More of that.
